Newest JDC Webinar - Maximizing Supply Gross Profits After the success of our last Webinar, "Parts is Parts", JDC is now moving on to the topic of Increasing Supply Gross Profits. We are also changing the Webinar format to use an interactive Conference Call Bridge for better communication. Long distance charges only will apply to the conference call. The commonly use BTA Model currently targets Supply Gross Profits at 35%, however many dealers are finding this target difficult to attain. I have discovered that this target can actually be increased to as much as 55%, adding significant dollars to Bottom Line Profits. What is the key to this project? Quite simply, it is Cost Containment. A large portion is setting up and using the tools we have available in OMD to monitor inventory at customer sites and compare it to volumes in order to produce suggested shipment reports as well as suspect reports target to find abuse. While Page Coverage is indeed a factor, one of the biggest enemies of Supply GP is the fact that your Customers think their Supplies are FREE. Therefore they call and order a year's worth of toner just So they Don't Run Out. Connected machines will use more toner due to Page Coverage is actually a myth. I have actually run statistics on the same model machine and separated them into connected and non-connected. The connected version actually produced higher yields on toners that non-connected. How many times do you print something and the first and last page are blank? Ever printed an email with two or three lines of print on the page? The biggest threat to Supply Gross Profit is the Customer who has a years worth of toner on their shelf. Color Copiers & Printers - Great Revenue per Page, but also a huge opportunity to take a bite out of profits at the time of installation. How much does it cost to "Fill the Tank" on a color unit?
