Text Box: Auto Restock & Purchasing Text Box: Our newest project, Parts is Parts Gen II, gathers data on parts usage by car stock location to determine proper stocking levels for Technicians. Linking current cost information allows us to project not only what parts should be carried, but the approximate cost of those parts as well. Extending this information on to add necessary on-hand & on-order levels allows us to calculate total inventory investment based on current usage levels. Using a Special Request program from OMD, REQBT0 (cost $200 from OMD), we are able to load the necessary information into OMD after it has been reviewed by your staff using CSV files to set up both Location and Master Product records to begin restocking & reordering on a weekly basis with minimum file maintenance. In addition to proper setup of these records, we will review location & car stock controls and purchasing levels to optimize parts inventory investment. In today’s business climate, each rescheduled service call increases cost from $150 to $200. The opposite side of this pendulum swing is parts which have to be written off as inventory becomes obsolete. Proper setup of purchasing records will help us to monitor descending usage items in order to turn off minimum levels & deplete stock prior to having to write it off. Once setup is completed, we will work with your staff to begin the process of Auto Restock & Reordering warehouses & car stocks, as well as run reports to determine overstock levels and or potential obsolete parts on hand. We will also show you a process to monitor parts expenses compared to parts purchased monthly to identify trends in usage & purchasing. In addition, we can set up OMD to produce PO’s which can be uploaded to manufacturers on-line sites, saving many hours of keypunch time entering PO’s manually.
